FF Thomas Briggs
Firefighter Thomas Briggs is a 23-year veteran of the Massachusetts fire service. He began his interest in the fire service with a start in the Explorer post of the Boy Scouts, at Sutton Fire Dept. He spent 5 years on the post. Firefighter Briggs then joined the call department in 1995, and also stayed on the explorer post as an advisor. He helped with teaching the new explorers in the methods of firefighting. He was then offered a fulltime position at Sutton Fire in 2000, where he stayed until 2005 when he accepted a position at the Worcester Regional Airport where his primary responsibilities were Crash Fire Rescue and he was also a Massachusetts Special State Trooper. He spent 11 years at the airport before being hired by the Auburn Fire Rescue Dept. in 2018.
Firefighter Briggs is a registered EMT Basic, and is a graduate of the Massachusetts FireFighting Academy Recruit class # 151. He has been member of the District 7 Technical Rescue Team for 2 years. Firefighter Briggs holds certificates in rope rescue, trench rescue, and confined space. Firefighter Briggs also serves as a call Lieutenant in Sutton. He has an associate’s degree in Criminal Justice from Quinsigamond Community College.
Firefighter Briggs long-term goals would be to finish his career at the Auburn Fire Rescue Department.
