Captain Stephen Anderson

Stephen Anderson joined the Auburn Fire Rescue Department in 1983 as an Auxiliary Firefighter and was promoted as a call firefighter in 1988. He became a full time member of the department in October of 1990 and is a graduate of the Massachusetts Fire Fighting Academy. In the early 1990’s he was appointed to the Town’ 911 Committee and was instrumental in coordinating and bringing 911 to the Town of Auburn. He was promoted to Lieutenant in 1995 and served as the departments Training Officer for many years. For the past 18 years he has served in the Bureau of Community Risk Reduction, Fire Prevention Division as a Fire Inspector. He was promoted to Captain in September 2006 and currently heads that division.
Captain Anderson is an active member of the Fire Prevention Association of Massachusetts, a Credentialed Fire Prevention Officer I, certified Fire Inspector I, Fire Officer I and has attended Fire Officer II training. He is a member of the International Association of Arson Investigators and has worked as a fire investigator for over 20 years in the department’s Fire Investigation Unit. Captain Anderson is also a member of the Towns Development Coordination Group and the School Superintendents Safety Advisory Team.
